Police Praise Ruddington Drivers

Motorists entering our village via one of its northern gateways are being praised for doing better at obeying the speed limit than when Nottinghamshire Police previously carried out checks there. When Rushcliffe South neighbourhood officers last brought their radar gun to Wilford Road in September 2022 they recorded three vehicles still doing in excess of 35mph along the main, built-up stretch. No Council Tax Rise for Most Residents

Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has announced today the majority of householders here in Ruddington and elsewhere should see no increase in its share of our Council Tax for the twelve months from this April. However, this freeze is still subject to a Full Council vote. In a move which RBC says further reflects the ongoing ‘cost-of-living crisis’, it’s proposed that properties in bands A to D would see no increase at all. Knife and Laughing Gas Found After Ruddington Crash

Police are appealing for information following an unexpected discovery at the scene of a car crash this week. Nottinghamshire officers were driving through Ruddington at around 10.50pm on Thursday night (26th January) when they saw a car smash into the side of the A52 Nottingham Knight Roundabout. The car sustained significant damage – with the driver being issued with a traffic offence report (TOR) for driving without due care and attention. Ruddington Shoplifter Jailed

A prolific shoplifter has been put behind bars and banned from a number of local stores as Nottinghamshire Police continue their promised crackdown on repeat offenders. Dale Tainton, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing from Ruddington Co-op on January 7th this year. The 45-year-old had a magnetic de-tagging device when neighbourhood police officers caught him. After pleading guilty to shoplifting and going equipped to steal, he was jailed for eight weeks when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on January 16th. Two Teenagers Arrested Following Ruddington Knife Incident

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating after a disturbance in Ruddington this week during which it’s alleged two teenage boys chased and menaced two girls with a knife. Ruddington Man Hospitalised By Reported Assault

Police investigations are continuing after an incident last night in our village which left a man needing hospital treatment. Emergency services were called to an address in Leys Court, Ruddington, at 9.21pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 12th October) after reports of an assault. Police tell us that the victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital, where he remains. However, his injures are not believed to be life threatening. Man Arrested and Stolen Ruddington Car Recovered

A man has been arrested after police spotted and followed a car which was suspected of being stolen. Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s operational support unit noticed that a Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling in the Clifton area during the early hours of yesterday (Saturday 1 October 2022), was displaying false number plates. The driver then tried to evade police and failed to stop. A short time later the car came to a halt in Village Road and a man was detained. Police Crack Down on Untaxed Cars

Ruddington residents should be aware of a recent flurry of Nottinghamshire Police activity here around vehicles that are either untaxed or holding a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) but still being left on the street. In the last couple of weeks, at least two cars in Ruddington have been seized and towed away after it was discovered their owners were breaking the law.
