It seems the issue we reported two months’ ago of criminals targeting vehicles in Ruddington – particularly on the Pasture Lane estate – still hasn’t gone away, despite reassurances from Nottinghamshire Police at the time that they had increased patrols in our village. Woman Arrested Following Knife Injury in Ruddington

A woman has been arrested after a man was injured with a knife in Ruddington. Nottinghamshire Police were called to an undisclosed address in our village following reports that a man had suffered injuries to his stomach inside a house. The 43-year-old had to be taken to hospital for treatment. Officers reveal, at this stage, his injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. Free Cycle Security Marking & Registration in Ruddington

Local cyclists are being invited to our village centre this weekend for a FREE bike security marking and registering session. It’s being run by Rushcliffe Borough Council’s ‘Community Safety’ Team and Nottinghamshire Police to assist Ruddington cycle owners with measures to deter thieves. Eagle-eyed residents may have spotted local Neighbourhood Policing Team officers conducting ‘Speed Gun’ operations in Ruddington this morning. With Ruddington’s reported crime rate more than doubling during April*, this week village residents had the opportunity to meet up and discuss the issue of policing our village with Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards and representatives from Nottinghamshire Police. Motorists in Ruddington are being asked to watch out for suspicious behaviour around their parked cars and vans after criminals struck in our village again this week. Rushcliffe Police reveal: “Patrols have been increased in the area of Ruddington following several thefts from motor vehicles and two thefts of vehicles over the Bank Holiday Weekend.” It seems many of these incidents were on our Pasture Lane estate. Rushcliffe Police have just released their Ruddington crime statistics for last month. The figures show that only eight incidents were reported to them from our village via 101 and online from 1st March to 31st March 2022. Two of our new housing developments were targeted again, in addition to thefts from unattended vehicles, a business burglary and drivers failing to pay for their fuel at Ruddington’s filling station. Fire on Fairham Close!

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village.
