Fire on Fairham Close!

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village. Three crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue raced to the scene following the report of a fire on Fairham Close at 4.26pm – which quickly set fire to “multiple” sheds and outbuildings before firefighters could arrive to tackle the flames {Nottinghamshire Live photo above}. Police Appeal Following Village Centre ‘Altercation’

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following what appeared to be two back-to-back incidents in Ruddington Village Centre last week. Customers and staff at Ruddington Fish Bar watched in some bemusement as the first early evening fracas unfolded on Thursday (3rd February) at just after 6pm. Police Car Rammed During Ruddington Pursuit

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington last night when a police chase ended up in a village centre cul-de-sac. An eye witness reported to RUDDINGTON.info that an unmarked police car followed a vehicle into St Peter’s Crescent, but the driver didn’t realise it was a dead end. Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a vehicle was followed into Shaw Street before the driver stopped, got out and spoke to the officer.  However, he then got back into the vehicle, rammed into the police car and sped off. Man in Critical Condition Following Ruddington Fight

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries – which officers believe were caused by a punch to the head. The 28-year-old was knocked unconscious following reports of a fight on Easthorpe Street just after 9.30pm last night (Saturday August 21). The road was closed for a time, following the incident, to facilitate forensic investigations. Police Incident on Easthorpe Street

There have been some dramatic scenes in our village this evening (Thursday 12th November) after a van ended up on the pavement lodged between parked cars and the wall of a terraced cottage on one of Ruddington’s oldest roads. Incident at The Red Heart

Patrons enjoying a pleasant Saturday night out at a Ruddington pub found themselves surrounded by police and emergency services! Officers sped to The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street at around 9.20pm, and cordoned off the road, after a glass bottle was believed to have been thrown at a man in a fight – which left him nursing a neck wound. An ambulance also attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering. He has since been discharged.…

The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage. Incident Closes Clifton Road For Six Hours

Motorists trying to get between Ruddington and Clifton have found themselves facing a long diversion this evening (Thursday 12th September) after Clifton Road was closed to traffic. Officers put cordons in place – and blocked the route with police cars – to prevent access to and from Wilford Road at ‘Tavern Island’ after an accident near the end of Clifton Road.
