Police Appeal Following Village Centre ‘Altercation’

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following what appeared to be two back-to-back incidents in Ruddington Village Centre last week. Customers and staff at Ruddington Fish Bar watched in some bemusement as the first early evening fracas unfolded on Thursday (3rd February) at just after 6pm. Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. Police Report Record Haul During Knife Amnesty

Community support is being acknowledged in helping Nottinghamshire Police recover a record number of weapons during the nationwide ‘Operation Sceptre’ week of action last month. Officers reveal that, across our county, more than 1,000 weapons were taken out of circulation. 949 were handed in through the knife amnesty, between the 16th and 22nd September, and the rest through weapons sweeps, targeted operations and stop and search activity. Fuel Theft Alert!

Rushcliffe Police have revealed that Ruddington has been targeted again during a current spate of criminals stealing vehicle fuel. Most of the crimes, over the past work, were in West Bridgford but there has been one known case on Templeman Close in our village. Since January 23rd officers have received seven reports of fuel tanks being drilled and fuel drained off.
