Nottinghamshire Police have revealed two suspects were arrested in our village within the space of a few minutes this week thanks to a new crackdown on car thefts. Operational Support and Response officers have stepped up targeted patrols around the Edwalton area, following a recent rise in vehicle theft reports there, and were carrying out one such patrol when a car was taken from a local driveway. Police Appeal Following Ruddington Drugs Haul

Rushcliffe Police are asking any villagers with further information to come forward following the arrest in Ruddington of two men with a large quantity of drugs. Officers were called to Asher Lane at around 11.15am last Wednesday, 4th October, following reports a car was being driven across farming land before becoming stuck. Police are appealing for information following an unexpected discovery at the scene of a car crash this week. Nottinghamshire officers were driving through Ruddington at around 10.50pm on Thursday night (26th January) when they saw a car smash into the side of the A52 Nottingham Knight Roundabout. The figures show that only eight incidents were reported to them from our village via 101 and online from 1st March to 31st March 2022. September’s Ruddington Crime statistics, just issued by Rushcliffe Police, show a spike in vehicle crime around our village. This includes two cars – one parked on Wilford Road and another on Church Street – which had their catalytic converters stolen. It seems thieves target these for the precious metals they contain – such as rhodium, palladium, and platinum – making newer vehicles the most vulnerable.
