Police Report Record Haul During Knife Amnesty

Community support is being acknowledged in helping Nottinghamshire Police recover a record number of weapons during the nationwide ‘Operation Sceptre’ week of action last month. Officers reveal that, across our county, more than 1,000 weapons were taken out of circulation. 949 were handed in through the knife amnesty, between the 16th and 22nd September, and the rest through weapons sweeps, targeted operations and stop and search activity. New Police Warning About Thefts from Vehicles

Although May was another relatively quiet month for crime in Ruddington, many of the incidents investigated by officers were again thefts from motor vehicles parked in residential areas of our village. These accounted for nearly half the offences reported. Police are reminding people not to leave valuables in unattended cars and vans, particularly overnight.
