Ruddington Beat Manager PC Cai Kemish says: “It appears that there has been a number of thefts this month, from both business and residential premises. Below are a number of crime prevention tips…

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. Historically our former Sainsbury’s store on Dutton’s Hill was targeted frequently by shoplifters…

As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. However, this is still significantly lower than in some previous months, and none of the offences was very serious. They include the previously reported breaking of two windows at Gino’s Ristorante on Church Street, two drive-offs from the…

A relatively quiet month for reported crime in Ruddington ended disappointingly when more windows were smashed in our village centre during Hallowe’en night ‘celebrations’. The damage (above) to Gino’s Ristorante on Sunday October 31st was reported the following day – with owner Guglielmo Frederico ‘Fred’ Formosa giving his CCTV footage of the incident to Police, who are now investigating. Those responsible are reported to be “young lads”, and anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have further information about what happened, is asked to come forward – anonymously if you…

Ruddington crime figures for last month just revealed by Rushcliffe Police show a spike in thefts, burglaries and items stolen from motor vehicles in our village – though without any criminal damage recorded this time around. As previously reported, the summer ‘crime wave’ prompted local officers to increase patrols in Ruddington. However, the August figures from our local officers do not include the subsequent assault on a 28 year-old man in Easthorpe Street on August 21st, which left the victim seriously ill in hospital with life threatening head injuries. A 34-year-old…

Officers confirm several recent incidents this week – concerning interference with vehicles and burglary – mainly between 1.00am and 3.00am. Ruddington PCSO Sherrylee Sampson says: “Bladon, Camelot, Vicarage and Churchill were amongst the affected. I have been in a plain car patrolling for the last couple of nights, just to see if there was anyone hanging around. Night shift response officers are aware and will be patrolling the area…
Read More132 Per Cent Rise in Antisocial Behaviour in Ruddington?
New statistics just published by Nottinghamshire Police indicate the number of reported incidents of ‘antisocial behaviour’ in our village shot up by 132 per cent during the Coronavirus pandemic. Figures from the past twelve months of COVID-19 restrictions and ‘lockdowns’ show Ruddington’s increase was second only to the Ashfield District of Nottinghamshire – leading to alarmist stories in some local news media. However, thankfully for us, it seems this does not give an accurate picture. In fact, for the whole year, the number of reported cases rose from just 83…
