Fire Blacks Out Elms Park Properties

Television viewing and internet browsing were brought to an abrupt halt in one area of Ruddington last night as around 124 homes lost power. Tuesday evening’s outage affected residents of Elms Park and Sheepfold Lane. One householder reported flames shooting from a manhole on the roadside – before emergency services and an electricity van arrived at the scene. Early Morning Blaze Hits Almost Two Thousand Homes

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington during the early hours of this morning when an electricity sub-station on Old Station Drive caught fire – initially cutting power to 1,961 houses in our village. Flames were visible leaping high into the night sky. Thanks After Ruddington House Fire

The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage. As RUDDINGTON.info previously reported, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house at the corner of Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road at 12.32am on Saturday (14th December) when smoke was seen coming from the roof. It’s just over two months since the relative peace and quiet of a Sunday evening in Ruddington was shattered by the dramatic arrival of fire crews, cordoning off High Street and smashing through the door to tackle a blaze at our village bookmakers.
