Unusual Rescue from Ruddington Railings!

Just before 8 o’clock this morning (Thursday 14th April) two crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue attended a rather unusual incident – after a caller reported that a young deer had become trapped in iron fencing along Grange Mews in Ruddington. When firefighters from West Bridgford and East Leake arrived at Westgate Lodge, off Wilford Road, they discovered the deer stuck there, in considerable distress. Fire on Fairham Close!

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village. Three crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue raced to the scene following the report of a fire on Fairham Close at 4.26pm – which quickly set fire to “multiple” sheds and outbuildings before firefighters could arrive to tackle the flames {Nottinghamshire Live photo above}. Thanks After Ruddington House Fire

The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage. As RUDDINGTON.info previously reported, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house at the corner of Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road at 12.32am on Saturday (14th December) when smoke was seen coming from the roof. Firefighters from West Bridgford, Highfields, London Road and East Leake stations were at work in the early hours of this morning tackling a house fire in Ruddington. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a property at the corner of Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road at 12.32am today (Saturday 14th December) which was reported to be on fire.
