Unusual Rescue from Ruddington Railings!

Just before 8 o’clock this morning (Thursday 14th April) two crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue attended a rather unusual incident – after a caller reported that a young deer had become trapped in iron fencing along Grange Mews in Ruddington. When firefighters from West Bridgford and East Leake arrived at Westgate Lodge, off Wilford Road, they discovered the deer stuck there, in considerable distress. Ruddington drivers are being slowed down again at the northern end of our village from today – due to new roadworks which began this lunchtime and are scheduled to last a fortnight.
