Calm January – Mindfulness in Ruddington

After the madness of the festive period, it’s quite likely you’ll want to de-stress a little. Maybe you’ll even need a bit of help re-focusing your life into 2019? Ruddington mindfulness teacher Jakki Pritchard seems to have settled very well into her Tuesday evenings in the Old Chapel at the Framework Knitters’ Museum – where she’s already run two free taster sessions and two full mindfulness courses. A unique and musical Christmas commercial featuring staff from a dozen of Ruddington’s High Street retailers singing on location in tandem with Ruddington Community Choir – the first of its kind for our village – premiered today (Saturday 1st December) during the annual Christmas Fayre! The latest edition of Ruddington’s must have guide – now containing 37 places to visit on a #RuddyGoodDayOut – is available now.  Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) facilitated the official launch at their High Street stall during Ruddington’s 2018 Christmas Fayre – handing out their Loyalty Cards along with the new ‘Ruddy Good Day Out’ booklets to passers-by. Ruddington’s main public transport operator is celebrating yet again – after receiving no less than THREE “Gold” UK Bus Awards, including the ‘Environment Award’. Of course, the benefits of ‘Green NCT – Home of the World’s Largest Fleet of Bio-Gas Double Deckers’ have been felt directly in our village – since Nottingham City Transport (NCT) replaced all our Green 10 buses with these brand new, environmentally friendly vehicles last year. They use fuel produced from waste through anaerobic digestion. A Ruddington resident has announced she’ll soon be hosting a third ‘mindfulness’ course in our village – after the first two proved to be so popular. Jakki Pritchard started running her ‘Exercise Mindfulness’ sessions here last year to give locals easy access to what she describes as “an enlightening and life enhancing way to manage our own health and wellbeing”.
