It’s been a great year for our village at the ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards’ – with two winners from Ruddington and a total of four shortlisted . Back in the summer we revealed how the 2023 ‘Ruddington Christmas Market’ would be building  on last year’s hugely popular event by expanding to three days. Ruddington Man Arrested After Cocaine Seizure

A suspect from our village has appeared in court after Nottinghamshire Police found multiple wraps of crack cocaine when they raided a house. Officers made the discovery when they executed a warrant at a property in Middle Furlong Gardens, The Meadows, Nottingham, on Friday (17th November) at around 2.25pm. As well as the Class A drugs, it’s reported the officers also found a quantity of cannabis, mobile phones and weighing scales in the kitchen of the address. A man and two women found inside the property were arrested. ‘Shade Sails’ in the Park

Regular visitors to Rushcliffe Country Park here in Ruddington may already have noticed two rather ‘striking’ new additions between the children’s play area and outdoor gym/new skatepark. Officially called ‘Shade Sails’ (pictured top), they have been erected among the picnic benches to provide welcome shelter from the sun during the summer months, and protection from rain during the wet, winter months. Milestone Moment for Ruddington’s Railway

Despite the less than ideal autumn weather, it’s being reported that construction of a brand new building at Ruddington’s heritage railway is proceeding well – with new roof beams recently lifted into place {top photo by Tom Ingall} and the halfway point of the fundraising target now reached. It’s been revealed that individuals and groups volunteering at Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum (FWK) have been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service 2023.
