It’s been a great year for our village at the ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards’ – with two winners from Ruddington and a total of four shortlisted . Organised by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC), each year these awards celebrate the area’s most dedicated volunteers, businesses, organisations and environmentalists. as well as the best of its health and wellbeing, sport and food and drink sectors. New Hedgehog Highways Opened!

Unlike for Ruddington’s road traffic at the moment, progress for one of our nocturnal creatures has just been made a little easier thanks to some generous, nature-loving volunteers from a nearby village. It’s after RUDDINGTON.info teamed up with Wild Things Keyworth this summer to ‘Help Our Hedgehogs’  by creating a hedgehog gap in a deserving Ruddington garden – which would be fitted with an especially carved and decorated ‘Ruddington Hedgehog Highway’ surround, too. The Best of Ruddington Unveiled

The first-ever ‘Rudd Award’ winners were announced at a special ceremony at St Peter’s Church last night {Friday 18th November}, with a raft of Ruddington favourites celebrated for their contribution to the local community. The team behind the Ruddy Good Loyalty Card and Ruddington Village Market has just won the Celebrating Rushcliffe Award for ‘Community Group of the Year’ 2019. Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP), which only formed in April 2018, was recognised for galvanising village centre businesses into more initiatives to drive footfall to traders. The bus company which runs Ruddington’s Navy 3 and Green 10 services is celebrating having won FIVE of the top accolades at the 2019 UK Bus Awards – including ‘UK Bus Operator of the Year’ for a record breaking five times! Freedom Flying High!

Members of Freedom Dance & Performance are celebrating their success at the 2016 “Dance World Cup“.   38 different countries from Jersey to South Africa were there taking part. Among the twelve thousand competitors were thirty young dancers from the Ruddington based performing arts school – who jetted off to Jersey for a week to compete as part of Team England.
