Village Market on The Green Hailed a Huge Success

This weekend Ruddington Village Market returned after a four month physical absence, and it was a huge success – with organisers, traders and visitors doing an outstanding job of relaunching as a ‘socially distanced’ market in its new location on the village green. At 9am everyone was ready to go, and queues started forming at some of the most missed and hotly anticipated stands. Market regulars Split Screen Coffee, Beeston Brownies and Duke & Grey had orderly queues forming from early on, with small orange cones marking the 2 metre queuing…

Just What The Doctor Ordered

It was around a month ago, before the Government lockdown began, that people in Ruddington began to realise the sort of stringent measures which would be needed to slow the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in order to protect especially those in our village most at risk. As previously reported, Rushcliffe Borough Councillor Jen Walker took swift action after the March Councillors’ Surgery and – joined by members of Ruddington Village Centre Partnership, St Peter’s Church, Ruddington Mums and Alex Preston from The Bottle Top – within days set up a volunteer group and launched the Ruddington…

Share the Spirit of Ruddington!

One of the many, regular events missing from our village calendar for the foreseeable future is Ruddington Village Market – which has now also been suspended during the UK lockdown to limit the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. As thousands of residents, workers and visitors have continued their usual comings and goings…

That time came this afternoon when, at Boris Johnson’s now customary daily briefing, the Prime Minister asked for all the UK’s cafés, pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres to close “as soon as they reasonably can”.  Mr Johnson urged people not…

The team behind the Ruddy Good Loyalty Card and Ruddington Village Market has just won the Celebrating Rushcliffe Award for ‘Community Group of the Year’ 2019. They also supported the production of a fun festive video…
