If you’ve been along Wilford Road over Dutton’s Hill this week, you may have noticed that Ruddington’s convenience store has shut again – with all the shelves emptied. Happily we can report that this closure, which started today (Monday 26th February 2024), is only a temporary one – with the business set to reopen in just over a week’s time following refurbishment and rebranding. Unlike for Ruddington’s road traffic at the moment, progress for one of our nocturnal creatures has just been made a little easier thanks to some generous, nature-loving volunteers from a nearby village. It’s after RUDDINGTON.info teamed up with Wild Things Keyworth this summer to ‘Help Our Hedgehogs’ by creating a hedgehog gap in a deserving Ruddington garden – which would be fitted with an especially carved and decorated ‘Ruddington Hedgehog Highway’ surround, too. It’s the last day of ‘Ruddfest 2023’! Ruddington’s annual beer, cider, gin, food and music festival starts at 12-noon at various participating village venues.
