It’s ‘Ruddfest 2023’! Ruddington’s annual beer, cider, gin, food and music festival is on until Sunday 28th May. This year over 100 beers and ciders are available – until they run out! – across participating venues from 12-noon. Ruddfest will be centred around the main marquee on The Green, along with The Frame Breakers, and the White Horse and Red Lion pubs are joining in today (26th May). Help Our Hedgehogs!

Ruddington wildlife lovers are being encouraged to take action to protect the red listed mammals – with ‘The State of Britain’s Hedgehogs 2022’ report suggesting numbers have declined by 75% in some parts of our country since the year 2000. The increased use of fencing between houses, rather than hedges, has been partly blamed. Besides established hedgerows providing a ‘home’ for the spiky creatures, hedgehogs can also travel up to a mile each night through people’s gardens if the activity of humans still makes this possible. Messy Mums Say ‘Farewell to Winter’!

Spring is definitely ‘in the air’ and women in Ruddington are being invited to gather again to celebrate its arrival. ‘Messy Mums’ – an evening of ‘chatting, crafting using upcycled materials, plus cake and wine’ – is back this Thursday at St Peter’s Church.  It’s a FREE event, usually held there three times a year for the mums in our village, although non-mums are also welcome.
