March Village Market

Organised by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP), Ruddington Village Market is held on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 2pm.

Since it was launched in February 2019, the open market has become a magnet for shoppers from our village as well as much further afield. There’s a large variety of stalls on The Green plus chance to visit Ruddington’s many local shops and retailers.

On Saturday 2nd March there’ll be over seventy traders alongside other stalls and stands on the village green, including new street food offerings from Pizza Rhea and Chef Stef and new coffee provider Boom Coffee. There’s also the ‘Market Bar’ and Ruddington Parish Council; sharing their latest news and chatting to villagers about any areas of concern. Music this month is by The Bottles and Chai & Ben and RVCP’s charity of the month is Nexus Fostering.

The full list of this month’s visiting retailers – with their corresponding stall numbers on the map – is shown below:

The White Horse on Church Street – the Village Market’s original venue – is staging its usual smaller market on the same date – running from 9am to 2pm.

Across the road in St Peter’s Rooms, ‘Handmade in Rudd’ is again staging its own ‘Craft Market’, between the same times, with FREE entry.

Market days are usually very busy in Ruddington, with parking spaces rather limited in the village centreso residents are encouraged to walk there, if you are able. This month there’s the additional problem of over-running roadworks at ‘Tavern Island’, which have been causing long traffic queues in all directions, so avoiding that junction would be wise!

Visitors from further afield, who live close enough to a Nottingham City Transport bus route, are encouraged to use public transport via a special, discounted Market Day travel ticket. NCT offers 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market Days. All you need to do is scroll down to the ‘NCT Partners’ category in the ‘Mobile Tickets’ section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’ll get the reduced fare.

Failing that, if you really do need to come to Ruddington by car, drivers are asked to avoid parking in our village centre and instead navigate to postcode NG11 6JS to make use of the street parking available at Ruddington Fields Business Park or pay just £1 to park in the Rushcliffe Country Park car park. From there it’s just a 10 minute walk along Elms Park to Ruddington Village Market along the route shown below. Alternatively there’ll also be a shuttle bus running from Mere Way at increased 20 minute intervals to get you to the market and back.

Have a #RuddyGoodDayOut!
