The first-ever ‘Rudd Award’ winners were announced at a special ceremony at St Peter’s Church last night {Friday 18th November}, with a raft of Ruddington favourites celebrated for their contribution to the local community. The inaugural Rudd Awards, organised by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP), was introduced by RVCP Chair Mike Ader and compered by BBC Radio Nottingham Drivetime presenter Verity Cowley {pictured} with a little help from the Vicar of Ruddington Revd Andrew Buchanan. ‘RUDD Awards’ Shortlist Revealed

Organisers of the first ever ‘RUDD Awards’ have just announced the 18 finalists – individuals, businesses and community groups from the village who’ve been shortlisted from over 300 nominations. The inaugural ‘RUDD Awards’ were launched in July 2022 by RVCP, Ruddington Village Community Partnership, to celebrate locals who’re making a difference to life in Ruddington, as well as contributing to a thriving ‘community hub and prosperous high street’. On The Verge of Paradise

Ruddingtonians who have a reason to walk via the private, gravel road between Clifton Road and Fairham Close will almost certainly have spotted a slightly odd L-shaped patch of previously overgrown land on the corner, just outside the western gates of ‘Paradise Gardens’ Allotments. This week, a team of four from home improvement giant Artex on Pasture Lane take part in the Vado Rally – driving a “banger” from Dover to Copenhagen over five days.
