Country Park Transformation in Full Swing with Help from Artex

Artex colleagues dusted off their wellies earlier this month to plant 400 hedges and trees donated by the Ruddington based business to Rushcliffe Country Park.

The hedgerows were planted in the park’s new outdoor seating area which has been developed into a large, open and shaded area with views of the lake and easy access to the car park, visitor centre, toilets and café. The hedgerows will act as a screen from the car park and road and will add shade in the summer as well as improving air quality and providing a habitat for local wildlife.

A major project has been taking place at our Country Park this year to redevelop the Visitor Centre and surrounding facilities. You can read more about this project and the grand opening which took place in October >>HERE<<.

Seven Artex colleagues (pictured top with Head Ranger Alastair Glenn) volunteered on the day as part of the company’s ‘Sustainability Action Day’ scheme. Employees are able to take one paid day per year to volunteer in their local community on a sustainable initiative. Other action days this year have included clearing an overgrown area at a school for outdoor activities, tree and shrub planting outside ‘Paradise Gardens’ Allotments in Ruddington, improving a site at Swadlincote Woods for wildlife and installation of a floatation eco system on the canal.
