Ruddington Pub Plans Approved

A revised planning application with a slightly scaled down extension to an historic Ruddington public house has been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Original plans revealed in July, to substantially expand The Frame Breakers at the corner of High Street and Kirk Lane by way of a three storey side extension with two storey side and rear extension to the existing building, received a negative reaction from some villagers and Ruddington Parish Council. A popular Ruddington inn has beaten off some stiff competition to win this year’s vote as the ‘Best Pub in Rushcliffe’. The annual awards are run by Rushcliffe MP, Ruth Edwards, who again conducted a public poll on her website before announcing the results this weekend to celebrate ‘Small Business Saturday’. The annual contest run by Rushcliffe’s Member of Parliament in the run-up to each year’s ‘Small Business Saturday’ has just been launched. Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has revealed volunteers from Ruddington are up for gongs in two different categories during next month’s ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards’ alongside a singer and keyboard player who runs frequent health and wellbeing music sessions here and a young, Ruddington sportswoman. The first-ever ‘Rudd Award’ winners were announced at a special ceremony at St Peter’s Church last night {Friday 18th November}, with a raft of Ruddington favourites celebrated for their contribution to the local community.
