Trio Arrested Following Ruddington Van Theft

Three suspected thieves have been caught, and two stolen vehicles recovered, after what Nottinghamshire Police are calling “fantastic police teamwork”. Members of the force’s city knife crime team were said to be on proactive patrol when they were alerted to a report of a van stolen from an address here in Ruddington. Searches were carried out after the van was later spotted in the Broxtowe Estate area of Nottingham. Officers found the van parked in Deepdene Close and started looking for suspects who ran off. ‘Ruddy Kind Acts’ Initiative Launches

For the past few Christmases, residents of Ruddington have benefitted from ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ – where a mystery benefactor and his helpers have posted hundreds of envelopes marked ‘R.A.K’, each containing £100 in cash to lucky local recipients in our village, Clifton and Silverdale. Some villagers even had a wad of money thrust at them whilst walking down the street! Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. New Year Roadworks at Manor Park

During 2021 villagers and visitors suffered unprecedented and disruptive roadworks in Ruddington – many of them to facilitate the construction of four major new housing developments on our former Green Belt. Thankfully, so far, things are looking rather quieter to start 2022.
