Ruddington’s King of Takeovers is Taken Over

A high-flying software company based in Ruddington Fields Business Park – which has become well known for its multi-million pound acquisitions of other companies – has revealed that it has now itself been acquired. The acquisition follows an initial offer in April, and was implemented by means of a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement. The full…

New Owners for Day Nursery

A popular Ruddington child care facility, which has been looking after villagers’ babies and pre-school children for the past 23 years, has been sold by its original owner. Ruddington Day Nursery at ‘Grange House’ on Wilford Road was judged ‘Outstanding’ in all three of its Ofsted reports, with the most recent inspection being in 2019.  Its Green Belt countryside location – with natural outdoor spaces for kids to play and learn (the so-called ‘Forest School’) – has been a key part of its success. Telly Fame For Our Framework Knitters!

Ruddington will feature on national television again this week – after a well known presenter and her camera crew secretly dropped in on one of our village’s heritage attractions earlier in the year. It was at the start of February that BBC1‘s Bargain Hunt came to Nottinghamshire, where host Natasha Raskin Sharp and experts Ben Cooper and Izzie Balmer brought the two teams antique hunting. During the morning of Friday February 4th Natasha visited Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum on Chapel Street to discover how a 16th-century curate revolutionised the world of knitting –…

Ruddington’s Summer Roadworks

Despite the continuing construction of four major new housing developments in Ruddington, no very disruptive roadworks are planned around our village during the summer of 2022 so far. Nevertheless, there are several sets of highway works liable to cause some inconvenience and delays for village motorists over the coming weeks. These include two total closures of Dutton’s Hill this July for more gas work. Although both of these ‘Prohibition of Driving’ notices are scheduled only for Sundays, traffic cutting through the estate to avoid a longer diversionary route is liable to…
