24 More Green Belt Homes Approved

Over eighteen months after plans were revealed to add further houses to a current Ruddington development, permission to expand it onto additional land which was also previously part of our village Green Belt has been granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Subject to conditions and an additional ‘Section 106’ agreement, two dozen more houses will now be constructed alongside the 185 already being built by William Davis Homes at ‘Lace Fields’ on former agricultural land opposite Mere Way. New Owners for Day Nursery

A popular Ruddington child care facility, which has been looking after villagers’ babies and pre-school children for the past 23 years, has been sold by its original owner. Ruddington Day Nursery at ‘Grange House’ on Wilford Road was judged ‘Outstanding’ in all three of its Ofsted reports, with the most recent inspection being in 2019.  Its Green Belt countryside location – with natural outdoor spaces for kids to play and learn (the so-called ‘Forest School’) – has been a key part of its success. Parish Council Buys Community Centre

Ruddington Parish Council has announced it has now completed the purchase of the former Youth & Community Centre site on The Green from Nottinghamshire County Council for use by our community in the future. It’ll be considering options on how to use the building (pictured above, in 2017, before it was targeted by vandals) and consulting with residents and local businesses in due course. In the short term, the Council says it intends to make use of the Community Centre’s parking spaces to help ease parking issues within the village…
