Safety concerns have been raised by local residents after a significant recent increase in visitors attempting to use Asher Lane to park for Rushcliffe Country Park. It seems the issue has been especially bad on Saturdays and Sundays – with drivers favouring access through our narrow village streets to try to park alongside the north eastern perimeter of the popular Ruddington green space rather than in the official car park off Mere Way. COVID Safety Concerns at Country Park

As we enter the second week of the new national Coronavirus ‘lockdown’, concerns are being expressed by users of Rushcliffe Country Park that ‘social distancing’ and other COVID-safe guidelines are not being followed. The building of the second of Ruddington’s major new housing estates on former Green Belt land moves a step closer this week as around six months’ work begins to create the access. Ruddington residents and groups can make their properties and communities even greener by applying for FREE trees for a third year running. It’s part of a continuing strategy by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) to provide ‘sustainable environments’ – as villagers brace ourselves for significant housing growth in the next decade.
