Ruddington businesses are helping families to get into the Hallowe’en mood this weekend with their very own ‘Trick or Treat’ trail around our village centre. Refurbished Ruddington Visitor Centre & Café Opens

The major work which started in January to upgrade the lakeside Education Centre and its associated facilities in Rushcliffe Country Park is now complete. As the sun shone down this morning {Wednesday 12th October}, The Friends of Rushcliffe Country Park, Rushcliffe Borough Councillors and other invited guests were among those attending the official opening to see all the improvements – including a permanent new café, the refurbished visitors’ centre and conference room, improved toilet facilities and additional landscaping. As the darker nights return, drivers and pedestrians in Ruddington may be pleased to hear that long-awaited work to replace a missing lighting column in our village centre is scheduled for this weekend. It’s around a year since an electrical fault in the base of the street light at the corner of High Street and Charles Street caused it to rather dramatically burst into flames and then slowly ‘wilt’ to the floor. As part of BBC Children in Need, Pudsey Bear and celebrity body-coach Joe Wicks will be taking part in four UK Parkruns in November – including Rushcliffe Junior Parkrun in our country park at 9am on Sunday 13th November 2022. It’s now three years since we first found out that Ruddington’s last remaining public telephone box would be decommissioned – when BT Payphones announced its lack of use made it no longer viable to keep it in service. A ‘Summer of Cycling’
