Whilst the official deadline for parents of village youngsters to apply for their Secondary School places outside Ruddington in 2024/2025 has now passed, the process for Infant and Primary children hoping they’ll be schooled here is only just beginning. Organisers of Ruddington’s popular monthly market have announced their decision to cancel this month’s event over health and safety fears due to the extreme autumn weather. It was due to be held this Saturday, 4th November on The Green and, as normal, would have featured around 80 stalls, food and drink, ‘live’ music and other attractions. Double Car Theft Arrest in Ruddington

Nottinghamshire Police have revealed two suspects were arrested in our village within the space of a few minutes this week thanks to a new crackdown on car thefts. Operational Support and Response officers have stepped up targeted patrols around the Edwalton area, following a recent rise in vehicle theft reports there, and were carrying out one such patrol when a car was taken from a local driveway. There’s been welcome relief for long-suffering Ruddington drivers and bus passengers this week after the imposition of temporary traffic lights at a notorious traffic bottleneck was postponed. As RUDDINGTON.info previously reported, following a number of gas leaks in recent years, Cadent Gas needs to carry out substantial maintenance on Wilford Road to replace the troublesome old iron gas main under ‘Dutton’s Hill’ (pictured top) with a “more durable” plastic pipe.
