Three Month Road Closure Announced

It seems 2024 is set to be just as difficult as 2023 has been for motorists trying to get into, out of, or through our busy village in a timely fashion; with a much used access road being SHUT for almost three months. Ever since long-overdue junction layout improvements and new utility installations at Ruddington’s Kirk Lane/Loughborough Road/Flawforth Lane crossroads finally began in July, their 4-way temporary signals have continued to cause frustration. Visitors to Ruddington village centre are being warned there’ll be fewer parking options for the next four days as one of the streets closest to our shops and amenities is closed to vehicles during essential work. This was due to happen between 16th October and 13th November 2023, therefore would have been going on at the same time as junction layout improvements…

Eight Day Road Closure Warning

As predicted, the patience of Ruddington’s long-suffering motorists and public transport users has been tested yet again in the past few weeks. The considerably overdue junction layout improvements at the Kirk Lane/Loughborough Road/Flawforth Lane traffic lights are now fully underway and causing major peak-time hold-ups, with buses often being re-routed as a result*. These works, to add extra turning lanes there, started in July, with preparatory work by National Grid. The package of agreed improvements is now continuing with water main pipe replacement work by Severn Trent starting last month and scheduled to continue until Friday 19th January 2024, with…
