An informal networking event which has been bringing business people together in our village for over eight years has announced another change of venue. From this month, Ruddington Business Partnership will be meeting a little further along Wilford Road at number six – a slightly more “trendy” venue now called The Next Episode – which is also run by Mark and Sarah Anderson of The Ruddington Arms. Two Weeks of Temporary Traffic Lights

Ruddington drivers are being slowed down again at the northern end of our village from today – due to new roadworks which began this lunchtime and are scheduled to last a fortnight. Interim Encampment Ban at Rushcliffe Country Park

Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced that ‘unauthorised encampments’ are now banned at Ruddington’s Country Park after it successfully secured a court injunction, with power of arrest, to prevent camps being set up at some of its strategic locations. The authority presented its case before Nottinghamshire County Court yesterday (September 16th) requesting that encampments cannot be established at Rushcliffe Country Park – along with four other strategic sites it owns: Rushcliffe Arena, Gresham Park, The Hook and West Park in West Bridgford. There’s just been a very useful new addition to our High Street – something that’s actually been missing for the past three and a half years. Thanks to Ruddington’s Postmaster Soham Patel, the Post Office now has an external post box again! Outline planning permission for William Davis Homes to build a major new housing estate on ‘Land East Of Loughborough Road’ in Ruddington was given the ‘green light’ by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) planners last night. Incident Closes Clifton Road For Six Hours

Motorists trying to get between Ruddington and Clifton have found themselves facing a long diversion this evening (Thursday 12th September) after Clifton Road was closed to traffic. Officers put cordons in place – and blocked the route with police cars – to prevent access to and from Wilford Road at ‘Tavern Island’ after an accident near the end of Clifton Road. Motorists who leave their cars down Asher Lane whilst visiting Rushcliffe Country Park are being warned about a spate of recent vehicle break-ins there. There’s an October update below*.
