It may only be September, but tickets are now on sale at Ruddington’s Great Central Railway (Nottingham) for their famous, festive steam train trips with Father Christmas!
The ‘Santa Specials’ mean the whole family can enjoy a scenic, winter journey through some beautiful South Nottinghamshire countryside. Most importantly, however, passengers can meet and take ‘selfies’ with the big man in the red suit during their journey.
Director Phil Stanway told us: “Despite what has been a difficult year with multiple high value vandalism attacks, our Santa Specials are back, bigger and better than ever and you can now book your Santa tickets online for the first time in our 25 year history.”
All services depart from and return to Ruddington where the shop and Heritage Café will be open for gifts, drinks and snacks. The miniature railway will be running (weather dependant) and model railways will also be open for visitors to enjoy.
Phil added: “We hope to see you throughout the festive period here at GCRN to see what we have to offer you at this magical time of year for the best chance for children (and adults!) to tell Santa what they would like for Christmas and receive a quality gift during their journey, along with festive refreshments for all!”
Santa Special services operate every Saturday and Sunday from 30th November through to 22nd December 2019 plus two Christmas Eve services to really get you into the Christmas Spirit! The full schedule with prices is here:
