It’s just been officially confirmed that dozens of acres of Ruddington’s precious Green Belt, at four locations on the edge of our village, have been given the government’s blessing to be sacrificed for new housing development. It’s after Rushcliffe’s ‘Local Plan Part 2: Land and Planning Policies’, as submitted for examination, was declared “legally compliant and sound” by the HM Government Planning Inspector – albeit subject to a number of minor modifications which he has recommended. Robin Hood Marathon Green 10 Changes

The annual Robin Hood Marathon is taking place this Sunday 29th September which will affect Nottingham City Transport buses crossing the route, including Ruddington’s Green 10 and Green 10C services. Some disruption will occur between 8.30am and 1.30pm. During all of this period: Green 10/10C from Ruddington will follow its normal route to Trent Bridge and then continue along London Road (the Victoria Embankment stop will be closed), and left Canal Street to the Broadmarsh area, where it will resume its normal route to the City Centre. A Masters Degree student who raised global awareness of Ruddington’s Village Museum has been recognised regionally for her achievements. Country Park Encampment Ban Secured for Three Years

Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced that its temporary ban on unauthorised encampments in Ruddington’s Country Park – and at four other key sites it owns – has been made permanent for three years. The authority presented a case before Nottinghamshire County Court yesterday (September 23rd) prohibiting encampments being established at Rushcliffe Country Park – along with Rushcliffe Arena, Gresham Park, The Hook and West Park in West Bridgford – until September 2022.
