No Council Tax Rise for Most Residents

Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has announced today the majority of householders here in Ruddington and elsewhere should see no increase in its share of our Council Tax for the twelve months from this April. However, this freeze is still subject to a Full Council vote. Historic Ash Tree Felled by Developer

Ruddington residents overlooking the new Wilbur Chase development south of Musters Road are expressing their dismay that a large, mature tree next to the site has been chopped down today – despite their pleas to save it. Ruddington’s Fight Against Food Waste

Representatives from Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) have been in Ruddington today to see at first hand the impressive progress made by a village initiative launched last Easter with the primary aim of reducing food waste in our community. Since then, project founders Carol Jaggers, Gwen Eyre and their volunteers have been opening the doors of ‘The Ruddington Pantry’ twice a week to hand out good quality, surplus food, free of charge from local food retailers (especially Ruddington Co-op) plus village gardeners and restaurants. Country Park Transformation in Full Swing with Help from Artex

Artex colleagues dusted off their wellies earlier this month to plant 400 hedges and trees donated by the Ruddington based business to Rushcliffe Country Park. The hedgerows were planted in the park’s new outdoor seating area which has been developed into a large, open and shaded area with views of the lake and easy access to the car park, visitor centre, toilets and café. To ensure our household waste gets collected this week, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is advising us we’ll need to get our grey bins out an hour earlier than usual. Special School Plans Approved

The wheels are now in motion for a Grade 2 listing building here in Ruddington to begin a new chapter in its history – after planning permission for a ‘special school’ there was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC).
