Police say they’ve arrested two men after responding to reports of men fighting with weapons in our village – and are now appealing for witnesses. Officers were called to the incident on Sellars Avenue in Ruddington at just after 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 25th March). One man is said to have suffered minor injuries. Two men, aged 25 and 45, were located, arrested on suspicion of affray, and taken into police custody. Thanks After Ruddington House Fire

The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage. As RUDDINGTON.info previously reported, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house at the corner of Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road at 12.32am on Saturday (14th December) when smoke was seen coming from the roof. It seems vandals have struck again at our heritage railway centre. Nottinghamshire Police are reporting that, over the past few nights, a total of six windows over a number of carriages have been broken at Ruddington’s Great Central Railway – Nottingham. The latest, mindless attack comes as railway volunteers are still trying to raise funds to fix the estimated £80,000 of damage caused there by vandalism just over three months ago.
