New Speedwatch Team Spotting Speeding Drivers

Speeding motorists in Ruddington are being monitored by a new volunteer group. The ‘Community Speedwatch Team’ have been out on their first roadside operations checking on speeding car drivers. They were armed with a speed gun, paperwork, hi-vis jackets plus yellow roadside signs. During the early morning rush hour this morning (Thursday June 20th) a team in Clifton Lane monitored 1,200 cars in 90 minutes. Two drivers were recorded driving significantly above the 30mph speed limit. Roadworks Force Bus Timetable Changes

The return of four-way temporary traffic signals to Ruddington’s Loughborough Road/Kirk Lane/Flawforth Lane junction, coupled with the latest bombshell that these lights will now continue until November, has led Ruddington’s main operator to revise one of its timetables until the works are completed. After delays caused by the inclement weather, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) says its major refurbishment and upgrade work in the play area at Ruddington’s country park is complete – with brand new, accessible equipment now open for children to enjoy.
