This is an annual, traditional, family Funfair called Ruddington ‘Wakes’. It is run by David Cox Family Amusements, and it’ll run until Sunday 30th of June on Sellors’ Recreation Ground – also known as Sellors’ Playing Field – running along Wilford Road. The 5-day event continues on Friday 28th June at 5pm – and will start from 2pm this weekend (Sat 29th & Sun 30th). If you live in Ruddington, walking to the Funfair is recommended. Sellors’ Playing Field will once again be alive with the sound of music and laughter this week as Ruddington’s annual family fun fair takes place. As our summer weather finally hots up, this year’s traditional event, run by David Cox Family Amusements, is running from Wednesday 26th until Sunday 30th of June. Ruddington’s famous ‘Firework Spectacular‘ is at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre on Saturday 4th November. NTHC’s annual evening display for Guy Fawkes night features a funfair, hot food,  a licensed bar and live music. Also the model railway and miniature train rides will be available. Ruddington ‘Wakes’ dates back over one hundred years, when the St Peter’s Feast was the start of the school holidays in the village (around the 29th of June).
