It’s almost six months since we brought you the disappointing news that the ‘Ruddington Big Sing’ would not be returning for 2022 after all – having been cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organisers of Ruddington’s popular monthly market on The Green are welcoming extra funding to support its growth and expansion. Through its ‘Strategic Growth Fund’, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has provided £14,800 in match funding for Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) to support the running of Ruddington Village Market – which now sees over 75 participating businesses each month and attracts thousands of visitors to our village. Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum is celebrating its long-standing textile artist and technical demonstrator, Helen Brownett, by presenting her with an achievement award for International Women’s Day, which is TODAY (Wednesday 8th March 2023). Police Appeal Following Ruddington Pub Fight

Nottinghamshire Police have launched an appeal for information after a fight broke out between a group of women inside one of our village pubs. Officers were called to The Red Lion on Easthorpe Street last Friday night (10th February) at around 11.30pm when it was reported seven women were fighting and throwing glasses at each other. Three women, aged 35, 37 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been bailed while investigations continue. Our village’s regular, acoustic music night has a new venue for 2023. From now on its sessions will take place at Ruddington Conservative Club – still on the 3rd Thursday of each month. New Year, Longer Market!

As Ruddington Village Market prepares to celebrate its fourth birthday, the team behind it has revealed visitors will have even more time to browse the many stalls in 2023. From February 4th onwards, our monthly market on The Green will open from 9.00am all the way through to 2.00pm – an hour and a half longer than previously.
