Goodbye Mr Mapperley

Pupils, staff and parents at a Ruddington school bade a fond farewell this week to the man who has been their Head Teacher for the past twelve years. After working thirty years in education, John Mapperley has retired from the post he has held at St Peter’s Junior School since January 2008 to pursue other options. Ruddington’s ‘High Street Heroes’!

On the eve of the inaugural Ruddington Village Market, it’s been announced that our village is to be the first in Rushcliffe to feature at the start of a special series of magazine articles – in a publication distributed to over 60,000 homes. Two groups in our village are currently competing for vital funding for their projects – and they’d like YOUR votes, please! Once again cash is up for grabs from the Aviva Community Fund for important local causes.
