New ‘Vape Store’ Owners Address Residents’ Concerns

Even before Ruddington’s latest village centre business has opened its doors, the new signage revealing what it’s to become has caused a bit of an outcry. Housed in the former butcher’s shop at 15, Church Street, which underwent a total refurbishment around six months’ ago, the recently added shopfront states it’s an ‘Electronic & Vape Store’ with a further illuminated neon sign emphasising the ‘Vape Shop’ aspect. Residents have written to RUDDINGTON.info complaining the signage is “…horrible and not at all in keeping…”, that the business is unsuitable for our village…

Messy Mums Say ‘Farewell to Winter’!

Spring is definitely ‘in the air’ and women in Ruddington are being invited to gather again to celebrate its arrival. ‘Messy Mums’ – an evening of ‘chatting, crafting using upcycled materials, plus cake and wine’ – is back this Thursday at St Peter’s Church.  It’s a FREE event, usually held there three times a year for the mums in our village, although non-mums are also welcome. One of Ruddington’s much-loved hospitality venues has reopened today under new management – and also with a more contemporary, new look. The Old Bakehouse Tearoom on Church Street had been closed since the start of July to allow for repairs and alterations to the interior by its new owner Eve Kirk.
