Happy Birthday to Ruddington Library! It’s the 60th anniversary of when the library officially opened (in 1963) and everyone’s invited to join them on Thursday 6th July between 2pm and 4pm. It’s ‘Diamond Day’ for Ruddington Library

Staff at our village library are inviting residents and other users to mark a special milestone with them this week – the 60th anniversary of its opening. Although never the prettiest building in Ruddington’s ‘Conservation Area’, the Church Street lending library has been serving bookworms and the wider community here since July 1963 – and most of us have become oblivious to its uninspired and dated appearance by now. Save the Children ‘Fun Dog Show’

Enter your doggy at the ‘Fun Dog Show’ to raise funds for Save the Children – it’s £2 per entry. This charity event will be on Saturday 20th May at Rushcliffe Country Park – on the field opposite to the Children’s Play Area – from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. One of Ruddington’s much-loved hospitality venues has reopened today under new management – and also with a more contemporary, new look. The Old Bakehouse Tearoom on Church Street had been closed since the start of July to allow for repairs and alterations to the interior by its new owner Eve Kirk.
