New Year, Longer Market!

As Ruddington Village Market prepares to celebrate its fourth birthday, the team behind it has revealed visitors will have even more time to browse the many stalls in 2023.

From February 4th onwards, our monthly market on The Green will open from 9.00am all the way through to 2.00pm – an hour and a half longer than previously. It’s envisaged there will still be around seventy independent stalls on the first Saturday of each month, comprising businesses from the village plus many visiting traders. Additionally, there’s a ‘Charity of the Month’, ‘live’ music and the usual Ruddington Parish Council tent – where local councillors welcome your ideas or concerns for our village and can tell you more about what’s coming up in Ruddington.

Organisers from Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) say: “If you’re involved with a charitable organisation and you’re looking for a space at a popular monthly outdoor market with great footfall, get in touch! Any registered charity, CIC or CIO can apply (or, if the organisation is based in Ruddington, any not-for-profit group with charitable aims), and it’s a great way to raise funds or awareness for your mission.  Whether it’s a regional branch of a national charity, or something more local, we’re keen to hear from you, with FREE spaces available throughout the year!”

You can email them via enquiries@ruddingtonvillagemarket.co.uk or get in touch via their social media. If you’re a trader who’d like to apply for a stall – whether a baker, street food vendor, plant seller, card maker, artist, cheesemonger, drinks maker, jeweller, or anything and everything in between – organisers would also like to hear from you!  All the relevant stall application details are >>HERE<<.

Sue Matthews returns as Market Manager

For every market stall booked in 2023, thanks to a partnership which began last April with non profit-making initiative Just One Tree, a tree is being planted in locations around the world to restore biodiversity and help combat climate change, by planting the right trees in the right places. In just nine months so far, this has totalled 801 trees – which will remove approximately 9.87 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year.

This new year also sees the return of Sue Matthews as Market Manager. She’s once again taking on the huge task of booking all the stalls, tracking invoices and planning layouts throughout the year. Sue’s promising there’ll be cake on her return – provided by The Ruddington Cake Company – to celebrate Ruddington Village Market’s fourth birthday! Raffle tickets to WIN this very special cake will be on sale on the day up to 1pm at the welcome tent, costing £1 each – with all proceeds going to Clifton NG11 Foodbank. Alternatively, you can buy raffle tickets in advance right now from The Bottle Top, Perkins Hardware or Elms Farm Butchers on High Street.

So remember, the important date for your diary is Saturday 4th February 2023 from 9am until 2pm. You can now find details of February’s specific stalls and other 4th Birthday Village Market attractions >>HERE<<.
