One of the best known characters in Ruddington’s retail community has left his post – after more than seven years as Operations Manager for a Nottinghamshire brewer. Nottingham Brewery has confirmed the departure of Andy Heath due to the imminent sale of The Frame Breakers pub on High Street – which the company has owned and run for the past six years. New proposals to resolve access issues for residents in a Ruddington cul-de-sac, whilst still enabling some parking there for those who need it, have been put out for consultation. Ruddington Parish Councillors have again said “no” to imposing a time restriction or long stay parking charges in their Church Street Car Park. As we reported earlier this week, following an approach from Ruddington Co-op, the idea was revisited at last night’s full Parish Council Meeting (October 12th). Free School Holiday Meals to Continue

Ruddington’s schools are welcoming the announcement by Nottinghamshire County Council that it will continue to fund Free School Meals for the October half-term and over two weeks at Christmas. This means that village schoolchildren will be among more than 25,000 across the county who will receive 250,000 meals during the October break.
