Pay Parking Plans Rejected

Ruddington Parish Councillors have again said “no” to imposing a time restriction or long stay parking charges in their Church Street Car Park. As we reported earlier this week, following an approach from Ruddington Co-op, the idea was revisited at last night’s full Parish Council Meeting (October 12th). Ruddington Woman Arrested in Fraud Investigation

Specialist teams investigating reports of fraud totalling over £100,000 descended on a house on Musters Road earlier today as part of what they called “proactive and intelligence-led action” into the claims. Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Reacher team and investigators from the Department for Work and Pensions carried out the warrant as part of an investigation into false claims for benefits. It is alleged that members of the public had been coerced into giving personal details, which had then been used to falsely claim Universal Credit. Crime in Ruddington is the focus of a short new survey which is dropping through residents’ letterboxes this week. It’s been produced on behalf of Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards following a spike of crime here over the summer months. It was particularly the increase in house burglaries which prompted a number of her constituents to write, expressing their concerns. Ruddington Burglaries Continue

There’s been another burglary in Ruddington – less than two weeks after a similar property was broken into on a neighbouring Street. Nottinghamshire Police say the latest incident happened in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 28th March) at around 3.15am at a house on Grange Avenue. This is just around a the corner from the scene of another break-in on Brookside Road on March 15th. However officers have so far released no further details, nor any indication of whether they think the crimes are linked. Beware of Burglars

Nottinghamshire Police are reminding us to make sure our homes are secure following another burglary in Ruddington yesterday (Wednesday 15th March) in which jewellery was stolen. The break-in happened sometime between 07.20am and 5.30pm on Brookside Road. It’s thought the offender climbed over the rear fence before smashing a rear patio door to get inside. The  jewellery stolen was in a distinctive, pink, tiered box . ‘No To Hate’ on Ruddington’s Buses

Ruddington’s main bus operator has joined forces with two other major Nottinghamshire public transport providers to sign a ‘No To Hate’ pledge. Nottingham City Transport, Nottingham Community Transport and Nottingham Express Transit (NET) have united in a partnership to tackle hate crime on public transport – with an official signing taking place on Friday the 3rd of February.
