Breakers’ Boss Bows Out

One of the best known characters in Ruddington’s retail community has left his post – after more than seven years as Operations Manager for a Nottinghamshire brewer. Nottingham Brewery has confirmed the departure of Andy Heath due to the imminent sale of The Frame Breakers pub on High Street – which the company has owned and run for the past six years. The Forties with The Framework Knitters

Ruddington’s Framework Knitters Museum is hosting a FREE wartime extravaganza on Bank Holiday Monday, the 29th of  May. Called ‘Swing Back to the 1940s’, the event turns back the clock to the Second World War, with staff and volunteers decked out in best 1940s regalia. Visitors to the event are, of course, also encouraged to dress up! The museum will even have hairdressers on hand to recreate authentic 1940s hairstyles, including the famous Victory Roll. ‘Frame Breaker’ Birthday Beer!

Nottingham Brewery has created a beer called ‘Frame Breaker’ to celebrate the 45th  anniversary of Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum. The new brew can be sampled at the museum’s August Bank Holiday Garden Party, this Monday the 29th, from 11am to 4pm.  It can also be purchased at the three pubs run by the micro-brewery – including The Frame Breakers in Ruddington.   20 pence from every pint of  ‘Frame Breaker ‘ real ale sold is being donated to the museum.
