New Parking Restrictions Start Soon

Residents and visitors wishing to park in the Easthorpe Street area of Ruddington will soon have fewer options – due to new parking prohibitions being introduced along a residential side road. Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) has revealed its work to paint new double yellow lines all along the eastern side and top turning circle of Cumberland Close is scheduled to take place from March 7th to 9th. Helping Survivors of Domestic Abuse

A free training course is being held this week in Ruddington to help our community support survivors of domestic violence. It’s one of a series of similar sessions across Rushcliffe and is taking place at 6pm on Friday 25th February in St Peter’s Rooms. The course is open to anyone who works or volunteers in retail premises, a school, place of worship, hospitality or healthcare setting. Detectives are appealing for witnesses following what appeared to be two back-to-back incidents in Ruddington Village Centre last week. Customers and staff at Ruddington Fish Bar watched in some bemusement as the first early evening fracas unfolded on Thursday (3rd February) at just after 6pm. Trio Arrested Following Ruddington Van Theft

Three suspected thieves have been caught, and two stolen vehicles recovered, after what Nottinghamshire Police are calling “fantastic police teamwork”. Members of the force’s city knife crime team were said to be on proactive patrol when they were alerted to a report of a van stolen from an address here in Ruddington. Searches were carried out after the van was later spotted in the Broxtowe Estate area of Nottingham. Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. Latest Village Figures Revealed

As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. Woman Arrested After Abingdon Drive Crash

Police say a woman has been arrested after reports a car was involved in a collision with a parked car in Ruddington. Officers were called to Abingdon Drive in our village at 4.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 1st December). This road – and also Ashworth Avenue at its junction with the A60 – were temporarily blocked off whilst the incident was dealt with. A relatively quiet month for reported crime in Ruddington ended disappointingly when more windows were smashed in our village centre during Hallowe’en night ‘celebrations’. Two Car Crash Closes Kirk Lane

A police pursuit through Ruddington this morning ended up in a two car collision in our village centre. It’s understood officers spotted a vehicle which was being driven suspiciously through the Lenton area and began tailing it as it approached Ruddington. There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington last night when a police chase ended up in a village centre cul-de-sac. An eye witness reported to RUDDINGTON.info that an unmarked police car followed a vehicle into St Peter’s Crescent, but the driver didn’t realise it was a dead end.
