A man has been arrested after police spotted and followed a car which was suspected of being stolen. Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s operational support unit noticed that a Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling in the Clifton area during the early hours of yesterday (Saturday 1 October 2022), was displaying false number plates. The driver then tried to evade police and failed to stop. A short time later the car came to a halt in Village Road and a man was detained. Woman Arrested Following Knife Injury in Ruddington

A woman has been arrested after a man was injured with a knife in Ruddington. Nottinghamshire Police were called to an undisclosed address in our village following reports that a man had suffered injuries to his stomach inside a house. The 43-year-old had to be taken to hospital for treatment. Officers reveal, at this stage, his injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. Man in Critical Condition Following Ruddington Fight

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries – which officers believe were caused by a punch to the head. The 28-year-old was knocked unconscious following reports of a fight on Easthorpe Street just after 9.30pm last night (Saturday August 21). The road was closed for a time, following the incident, to facilitate forensic investigations. Patrons enjoying a pleasant Saturday night out at a Ruddington pub found themselves surrounded by police and emergency services! Officers sped to The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street at around 9.20pm, and cordoned off the road, after a glass bottle was believed to have been thrown at a man in a fight – which left him nursing a neck wound. Early Morning Blaze Hits Almost Two Thousand Homes

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington during the early hours of this morning when an electricity sub-station on Old Station Drive caught fire – initially cutting power to 1,961 houses in our village. Flames were visible leaping high into the night sky. Police say they’ve arrested two men after responding to reports of men fighting with weapons in our village – and are now appealing for witnesses. Thanks After Ruddington House Fire

The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage.
