A man has been arrested after police spotted and followed a car which was suspected of being stolen. Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s operational support unit noticed that a Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling in the Clifton area during the early hours of yesterday (Saturday 1 October 2022), was displaying false number plates. The driver then tried to evade police and failed to stop. A short time later the car came to a halt in Village Road and a man was detained. A woman has been arrested after a man was injured with a knife in Ruddington. Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious injuries – which officers believe were caused by a punch to the head. The 28-year-old was knocked unconscious following reports of a fight on Easthorpe Street just after 9.30pm last night (Saturday August 21). Incident at The Red Heart

Patrons enjoying a pleasant Saturday night out at a Ruddington pub found themselves surrounded by police and emergency services! Officers sped to The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street at around 9.20pm, and cordoned off the road, after a glass bottle was believed to have been thrown at a man in a fight – which left him nursing a neck wound. The family which owns a village property damaged during a blaze at the weekend has thanked those who reported the fire and prevented more serious damage.
