Yet Another Gas Leak Causes Delays

Drivers in and out of Ruddington have again found themselves stuck in queues due to further roadworks which have sprung up unexpectedly today on Clifton Lane. It’s after another gas escape was detected on the bridge over Fairham Brook. Workers from Cadent are back onsite today (10th October) – attempting to trace and repair this latest leak – just a month since the last one. As the darker nights return, drivers and pedestrians in Ruddington may be pleased to hear that long-awaited work to replace a missing lighting column in our village centre is scheduled for this weekend. ‘Community Sundays’ in Ruddington

Neighbourhood Officers from Nottinghamshire Police have been in Ruddington again this afternoon carrying out speed checks on traffic entering our village along Wilford Road. Despite the 30mph limit now starting sooner, due to the new Bloor Homes development, with even a flashing sign to alert motorists to their speed as they pass Sellors’ Playing Field, they report that three vehicles were recorded still doing in excess of 35 mph along the main, built-up stretch.
