A ‘Summer of Cycling’

Ruddington Graffiti Artist’s Royal Tribute

A professional graffiti artist in our village is among many who have provided some wonderful extra colour for Ruddington’s celebrations of Her Majesty’s seventy years on the throne. The latest work from ‘Creed’ a.k.a. Ainsley Burton (pictured above with sons Harry and Isaac) can be found on the former changing room block at Sellors’ Playing Field – one of several he has been asked to do there over recent years. After being told earlier this year they would be losing their current facilities in Wollaton Park, Wilford Bowmen were seeking a new site as a matter of urgency. Unusual Rescue from Ruddington Railings!

Just before 8 o’clock this morning (Thursday 14th April) two crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue attended a rather unusual incident – after a caller reported that a young deer had become trapped in iron fencing along Grange Mews in Ruddington. When firefighters from West Bridgford and East Leake arrived at Westgate Lodge, off Wilford Road, they discovered the deer stuck there, in considerable distress.
