After having already been closed to through-traffic three times this year for roadworks, one of the main access routes in and out of Ruddington will be shut yet again this weekend. Thankfully it’s just for a few hours, therefore it’s less likely to cause disruption for drivers than previous closures – such as the repair and resurfacing work on Clifton Road between Camelot Street and Old Station Drive which took place in January following a burst water main. The latest closure is said to be necessary to complete work started by the same contractors in March to deal…

Another 32 new homes could be built on former Green Belt land in Ruddington if planning permission is granted to construct them in the grounds of an existing village property. Rather than selling The Croft at 211, Loughborough Road as a large, family home, Lincolnshire based Pygott & Crone Holdings Limited is instead advertising it for the owner as “…8.5 acres of prime residential development (stp), alongside an existing residential dwelling.” It suggests that the current property could be converted into three town houses – for a developer to sell individually – and…

It’s hoped Ruddington’s roads might benefit from a central Government boost to local maintenance funds to speed up much needed pothole repairs. Nottinghamshire County Council has announced it has been awarded £8.28million specifically for fixing road craters in Nottinghamshire as part of the Department for Transport’s £2.5billion ‘Pothole Fund’.
