This week, three of Britain’s biggest conservation charities – The National Trust, World Wildlife Fund and RSPB – have announced they’re joining forces to try to halt the destruction of UK nature using Sir David Attenborough’s ‘Save Our Wild Isles’ campaign as their inspiration. Council Cash For Our Village Market

Organisers of Ruddington’s popular monthly market on The Green are welcoming extra funding to support its growth and expansion. Through its ‘Strategic Growth Fund’, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has provided £14,800 in match funding for Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) to support the running of Ruddington Village Market – which now sees over 75 participating businesses each month and attracts thousands of visitors to our village. More Emergency Roadworks!

Motorists who travel to and from Ruddington via Clifton have found themselves delayed again today (Monday 6th March 2023) – after Severn Trent were called in to fix a leaking water valve on Clifton Road near the junction with Old Station Drive. Drivers are advised these two-way temporary traffic lights are likely to remain in place until this Wednesday 8th – by which time it’s hoped the necessary repair or replacement will be completed. Ruddington Solar Farm Application

Following a public consultation in our village in March 2022, Ridge Clean Energy (RCE) has now submitted a full planning application for its proposed ‘hybrid renewable energy project’ on agricultural land south west of Ruddington. Called ‘Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park’ the power generation scheme would be located at Fields Farm off Asher Lane and pair 49.9MW of solar panels with 49.9MW of battery storage capacity. 60th Anniversary of Closure ‘Open Day’

To mark sixty years since the loss of a full passenger service on the Great Central Railway Main Line, the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre on Mere Way is hosting an exhibition of the railway’s history. They’re combining this with a chance to explore Rushcliffe Halt and Hotchley Hill signalbox.
