Local archers may soon have a new location to practice their sport if an application to Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is successful – on green fields at the edge of Ruddington. Police Issue New Village Vehicle Crime Warning

Motorists in Ruddington are being asked to watch out for suspicious behaviour around their parked cars and vans after criminals struck in our village again this week. Rushcliffe Police reveal: “Patrols have been increased in the area of Ruddington following several thefts from motor vehicles and two thefts of vehicles over the Bank Holiday Weekend.” It seems many of these incidents were on our Pasture Lane estate. March Crime Figures

Rushcliffe Police have just released their Ruddington crime statistics for last month. The figures show that only eight incidents were reported to them from our village via 101 and online from 1st March to 31st March 2022. Two of our new housing developments were targeted again, in addition to thefts from unattended vehicles, a business burglary and drivers failing to pay for their fuel at Ruddington’s filling station. Fire on Fairham Close!

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village. Proposals for a New House on The Green

It’s been the end of another era in our village today (Thursday 31st March) as a long established and much loved Ruddington business closed its doors for the final time. The two highly skilled car mechanics behind it, Dave Pearson and John Dennis (pictured top), have brought to an end over 30 years of running Brookside Autoservices together by announcing their retirement. Blue Buses to Go Green!

Ruddington’s main bus operator has announced that its entire fleet of single decker buses will be fully electrified from next year. This includes replacing the three diesel-powered Navy 3 branded Optare Solo buses which Nottingham City Transport uses for its Nottingham to Clifton route via Ruddington. The city is to receive £15 million of Government funding towards the cost of 78 brand new buses in total, plus the additional required electric charging infrastructure.
