Whilst the deadline for parents of village youngsters to apply for their Secondary School places outside Ruddington in 2023/2024 has now passed, the process for Infant and Primary children hoping they’ll be schooled here is only just beginning. A new poppy display by the now famous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’ is among the ways our village is paying its respects this year to those who gave their lives to defend our country. Adorning the railings in front of St Peter’s Church, near the War Memorial, the Ninjas have had a little extra help creating this one. As Ruddington prepares for the annual Royal British Legion Parade and Service of Remembrance at our War Memorial, on Sunday 13th November 2022, the Ruddington and District Branch has a new Chairman. Village motorists are being warned to expect further hold-ups and disruption in the coming weeks; both as contractors carry out various highway works and festive events begin in Ruddington. Ruddington businesses are helping families to get into the Hallowe’en mood this weekend with their very own ‘Trick or Treat’ trail around our village centre. The three beneficiaries of this year’s ‘Local Community Fund’ – courtesy of shoppers at the Ruddington Co-op – have been announced. Ruddington’s New ‘Green’ Buses on Schedule

Back in March we reported the announcement by Ruddington’s main bus operator that its entire fleet of 78 single decker buses will be fully electrified from 2023. This includes replacing the three diesel-powered Navy 3 branded ‘Optare Solo’ buses which Nottingham City Transport (NCT) currently uses for its Nottingham to Clifton route via Ruddington. The operator has just announced that Pelican Bus & Coach will deliver the first 12 of the fully electric buses to join the NCT fleet, which are expected to enter service in late 2023.
